Mode 1: Practice
This is the heart of the app. One session per word takes that word through everything at once: you recall it, say its sentence out loud, write it in German, and translate it back.
graph LR
A["Recall\nthe word"] --> B["Say its sentence\nout loud"] --> C["Write it\nin German"] --> D["Translate\nit back"] --> E["Get your\nscore!"]

style D fill:#FEF3C7,stroke:#F59E0B,color:#92400E
style E fill:#D1FAE5,stroke:#10B981,color:#065F46
When you speak, the AI listens and compares your pronunciation to a native speaker, then gives you a score. Every word you pass moves one step up the review ladder - which is what feeds Daily Review (Mode 4).
Mode 2: Vocabulary List
The overview. Open any lesson and browse every word in it with its meaning and an example sentence, then pick the ones you actually want to learn.
Each word also shows how many times you've reviewed it, so you can see at a glance what's new, what's in progress, and what you've already retired.
Mode 3: Subtitled Podcast
Listen to native German speakers while reading along with synchronized subtitles - immersive listening with a safety net. Great for training your ear and picking up natural speech patterns.
Mode 4: Daily Review
The app remembers what you've learned and brings it back at the perfect time - just before you'd forget. Every word that's due, from every lesson, lands in a single queue.
Without review:

Mode 5: Quiz
Multiple choice questions to test your knowledge fast - the quickest way to check whether a lesson really stuck.
Mode 6: Journal
A new question every day. Answer it in writing or by speaking, and get your answer back corrected - so you practice producing German, not just recognizing it.

Der, Die, Das Trainer
One of the trickiest parts of German! Our dedicated trainer helps you master German articles across all levels with targeted practice.
Article Declension
Once you know that it's der Tisch, you still have to say den Tisch, dem Tisch or des Tisches. The declension trainer takes you through all four cases: pick the case, then type the article that goes with it.
Verb Conjugation
Practice conjugating German verbs across all tenses, in 5 categories:
- Normal verbs - Regular and irregular
- Separable verbs (trennbare Verben) - aufstehen, ankommen, einkaufen...
- Inseparable verbs (untrennbare Verben) - verstehen, beginnen, empfehlen...
- Modal and auxiliary verbs - können, müssen, sein, haben, werden...
- Reflexive verbs - sich freuen, sich erinnern, sich vorstellen...
Word Games
Vocabulary practice that doesn't feel like practice. Open Games from the menu and play with the words you're already learning:
- Hangman - guess the German word letter by letter
- Word Web - connect the letters and find the hidden words

The Review System
The Your Reviews section on the home page shows you everything that's due across all categories:
pie title Words Due for Review
"Idioms" : 8
"Language Levels" : 12
"Custom" : 5
"Podcasts" : 6
Why review matters: Without review, you forget 80% of what you learn within a week. With our spaced repetition system, you retain 89% with 50% less study time.
Tips for Success
1. Start Small
Don't try to learn 100 words on day one. Start with 5-10 words and do them well.
2. Use Multiple Modes
Don't stop at browsing the vocabulary list. Try all the modes - each one strengthens a different part of your memory.
3. Review Every Day
Even 5 minutes of review is better than none. The app will tell you what needs reviewing.
4. Talk to the AI Tutor
The AI tutor adapts to your level. Don't be afraid to make mistakes - that's how you learn!
5. Create Custom Vocabulary
Learning words from your own life (your job, your hobbies) is much more motivating than generic word lists.
